OUT NOW: ‘Blood Laughing’

‘Blood Laughing’ - a track that I did some recording for last year, is out now on Kit Records, as a part of the album ‘Richard & John’ written and produced by Devonanon.

I had a lovely time doing some recording for this track last year. I was asked to play over some beautiful marimba playing from Masayoshi Fujita, for which I did three differently styled improvisations: lyrical; erratic; and extended-techniques-based. It’s so great to be able to run free with your playing in a recording session, and respond to what you’re given in different ways, and then to hear your interpretations interpreted back at you through the art of production, and then hear how your recording fits into the bigger picture of an album 8(!) years in the making…
